At each training session you should wear good footwear to allow you to be active on various surfaces. Thongs don't fall into the category but runners or sports shoes do. You'll also need a normal length leash for your dog with later progression to a long leash. (We sell a range of good ones if you need a new one.) You dog will have a flat collar on it initially, moving later on to a check chain. You'll need a treat bag with treats for each session. (We do a lot of rewarding of dogs with treats. Again we sell a range of treat bags.) And lastly as you reach the middle grades a toy to play with your dog comes into play.
With The Canine Classroom's curriculum it is not a big problem to miss a class or two. At each level we are teaching a particular range of skills, but not in any specific order within each level. We repeat often the teachings as well as mix them up to ensure the dog understands the desired response in multiple situations.
8 weeks of age after your pet has had some of their vaccinations is the earliest we tend to start training dogs.
